‘Personalisation’ the next trend for clothing B2C commerce solutions.

Creating a shopping experience that is highly personalised is set to be the next step for B2C commerce solutions users, according to Drapers.

The online publication stated that it was a key topic discussed at its recent Drapers E-commerce Summit, with retailers now looking for ways to bridge the gap between the web-based and high street experiences.

A site that is helping to do this is Garmentology, which works by allowing shoppers to build a profile of themselves based on their exact body size and shape.

They are then shown a variety of outfits drawn from the sites of retail partners to find products that will look right for them.

“Garmentology brings the concept of a style adviser online, helping to tackle the challenge of sizing and fit and therefore cutting the rate of returns,” the article explained.

The retail market is becoming more consumer driven, according to Blake Nordstrom, president of US department store Nordstrom, in a recent report from Business News.
